Another possibility is of course to fly from Copenhagen to Bergen and then travel from Bergen to Flåm and onwards to Oslo and finally Stockholm. By train.
Today's prices for a flight from Copenhagen to Bergen on Norwegian are 41 euros on the 24th (dep 22:20 arr 23:40), 56 euros on the 25th (dep 16:35 arr 17:55) and 75 euros on the 26th of August (dep 22:20 arr 23:40).

hoxa61 and ttmadison - you both have been so much helpful. I can't express anything but gratitude and thanks. This is such good information. I will soon finalize the trip. I might decide to do the flight between CPH to Bergen and then NIN and train from Oslo to Stockholm
OR CPH to Oslo through ferry. Travel west for NIN and then fly from Bergen to Stockholm, although the last one seems longer and more expensive.

The only question nowise what is a better travel - ferry from CPH to Oslo OR train from Oslo to Stockholm. 
. Since they are both gonna be overnight, I am thinking former since as per @hoxa61's feedback , finding direct overnight from Oslo to Stockholm is not gonna be that easy.

Unfortunately there is no overnight rail connection from Oslo to Stockholm, only daytime trains. However, there is a direct expressbus leaving Oslo at 23:00, arriving in Stockholm at 6:40. I wouldn't do this though but some people don't mind travelling long distances on a bus. If you want to check it out, the name of the bus company is Swebus.
For some peculiar reason rail connections between Norway and Sweden are really bad. Probably the rail lines are in a bad condition not suitable for high speed trains. There has been rail works on this line and there will even be railwork this summer so hopefully the situation will change in the future. For example, there are no direct trains from Oslo to Copehagen at all, you always have to change in Gothenburg. And usually the leg Oslo - Gothenburg is by bus. Like 100 years ago there were night trains from Oslo to both Stockholm and Malmö/Copenhagen/Hamburg but no more. Between Oslo and Stockholm there are only 2 direct trains a day (and a couple of more connections with a change of train in Karlstad) compared to perhaps 25 - 30 direct flights (on Norwegian, SAS Scandinavian Airlines and Flybe).
If I had to plan this trip I would do Copenhagen - Oslo on the overnight ferry (ferries are nice; have a nice dinner, a couple of drinks in the nightclub and then a good sleep), NIN to Bergen, a flight Bergen - Stockholm. Where are you flying out from? Stockholm or Copenhagen?

I can fly out from anywhere. I haven't booked it yet.
So I did a lot of research, reading very extensively, also wrt trains/ferries/flights etc and i ealised 2 things

After a lot of debate with myself and convincing , I have decided to spend 4.5 days in CPH, take afternoon train into night to Stockholm, and then 5 full days in STockholm (including day trip). Trust me, I tried to fit in Norway but the more I read, the more it became futile. Finally, everything that everyone said about leaving Norway for future was right and I am going to do that too.
But I really really need to thank everyone for helping me out so much. Now all I need to do is go through the links that @hoxa61 has given and read about what to do in CPH and Stockholm and relax and enjoy my time.

Thanks Itvivek4u, I am looking into the same trip and I have learned a lot on this thread. I too am going back and forth between doing CPH& Stockholm alone OR adding in a few days in Norway since I will already be "in the area"
With that being said I would like to ask everyones opinion on my plan:

Based on all the research that I have done, my opinion is that from time perspective, your itinerary is totally doable (I was gonna do it too) but once I figured out the travel time and the cost involved. If you are doing flights in and out of Norway, then maybe it is worth a try.

Just got back from Copenhagen.Nice city but, its dug up for repairs especially around Norreport and main square.Look out for the bikers ,they will run you down.Very crowded with tour buses at Nyhaven. Do have a bite at Ida Davidson.3 days max.

I am trying to figure out how to plan this trip. I need specifics from any one who is willing to help.
Fly into Stockhom.
Spend two days in stockhom.

I'll be visiting Norway, Sweden and Denmark in early September. I was planing on spending most of my time in Oslo (2-3 days), Bergen (and/or Flam)(2-3 days), Stockholm (4 days) and Copenhagen (4 days). I have purchased a rail pass.
My questions: 1)I have a total of 14 nights, how many nights should I pass in Oslo, in Bergen and in Flam?
2) Does anyone have any day trips to suggest from Stockholm and Copenhagen?
3) Do I need to reserve a seat on all train trips? It isn't clear whether a reservation is always required.

Q for those who have already did this tour or for anyone who has more info.
I booked a flight ticket for Sweden and was planning to visit Denmark, maybe Norway if i have the time, or vice-versa, Norway first and Sweden afterwards, not sure yet, but by the comments about the communication between Sweden and Norway, it kinda makes me back off on this plan. (Or maybe things got better?)
Anyway, i wanted you to suggest me some cheap but relaxing accommodations. As well as a good location to pick. I''m not looking for something extravagant, but something that makes my stay pleasant and as close as "feeling at home" kinda experience. What would you suggest i do? Book in advance or search there? Also, i emphasize on the strategic location. I don't need to be in the centre of tourism as much as the best spot to go from sightseeing and live the nordic experience and not the touristic one.
The only thing i would like tho about my room is to be spacious. Not to play golf or anything, but i hate the rooms with two beds and a one person moving around kinda situation. Or should it be better to rent an ap?
I am very new to this traveling alone stuff, so please, all the information, the best.
