Venice said no to "large cruise ships" -- our newspaper didnt detail about their definition of "large", but thinking 2000+?? Good for them. On our third and last trip to Venice we cruised, but only do under-700 passenger ships (Azamara). It was our starting point so arrived 5 days before. There are always more winding ways to lose oneself in that magical city. We stay in the Dorsoduro always.

There is no ban at present. They need to build the new cruise terminal first. How long do you think that will take?
