Kiersty, It depends on where you are going, I wouldn't be in Bali or near it. I feel sorry for the HAL crew, they must be worried.

You are on a cruise forum, we are on cruises, going on cruises, or just back from cruises. How worried do you think we really are?

You had better just cancel your trip Kiersty. You have allowed those people to win by even asking the question.

Better just retreat to your basement and wait out your years in paranoid bliss.

Just remeber...you could be hit by a bus in the morning...does that prevent you from leaving the house?

Another terror alert? They keep issuing these terror alerts, making each one seem more severe than the last. Yet in the same sentence they tell you to go on with your daily routine and just "stay alert". What a joke. Surely you have enough sense to stay out of the "hot" zones.....a Caribbean cruise is not very threatening.

Kiersty,

For whatever it's worth, I thought that was an extremely valid question. And for those of you who don't follow the news, there has been a new worldwide terror alert issued for Americans traveling abroad ANYWHERE. I don't think this is something to take so lightly, nor does it invite the ridiculous rudeness that's been visited upon it. For heaven's sake, Americans abroad are being targeted, and many inside sources suspect that we're about to hit full-tilt into a new wave.

I suppose this isn't comforting to Kiersty or anyone else who's concerned, but it is the way it is. Kiersty, check out the state dept website - they regularly update with risk assessments for various parts of the world.

I agree with Lenore.

I think Kiersty had a good question about security.

I was on the Sea Princess last Nov. and felt very secure with all the new security measures.

Oh... So you can look at this link and see that, in fact, this alert has been issued. But I agree with others who feel that it's really difficult to evaluate this risk. Who knows what politics play into this?
