Stage above stateroom?

We are sailing the sensation on Oct. 5th from Tampa. We have been placed in E1, it apears that we have a stage on the floor above, will this be a problem?

As a matter of fact, you MIGHT get disturbed during varying times of the day (usually afternoon), if the show crews are rehearsing, or if you go to bed early. You'll probably be able to hear a muffled version of the show from your cabin, but they're usually done by 11:30 pm.

I've not only sailed that ship, but I'll bet I had that same cabin. The previous poster was correct, everytime the stage is in use you'll hear what's going on, but it's a bit louder than a muffle.
It is true that it will get quiet after the second seating show, so it all depends on what time you go to bed (or, if you like to take an afternoon nap).
Here's a tip, when you get on board and if you find it a problem, ask to be moved to another room which probably won't happen since the ship is usually full and they don't like to get the word out that you can move cabins if your not happy. If they move you fine, if not and you complain a time or two about it on the last day of the cruise they will probably bring you a letter that's good for 10 or 20% off your next cruise. Either way you win (unless you're so unhappy with Carnival that you don't want to go on another cruise).
I'm a very light sleeper and had no problems since we never went to bed before midnight. Email me directly if you have any other questions or want any other info about the ship.

I was on the Fantasy - it is true the show end around 11:30, however they had a sleepover for the pre-teens and the noise was tremendous until around 3:00 am or when I went to sleep. I don't remember.

Thanks for the responses, I think we will change our cabin now. We have waited far too long for a vacation!

We were on the Sensation in E1 (I kid you not!) a few years ago on a cruise to nowhere. It was our first cruise and we heard not a sound from anywhere!! If you can't change it, don't worry. I predict it will be fine!

I was on Celebrity's Horizon recently with a room below the kitchen. Bad location. I had to listen to carts rolling across the ceiling, and dishes banging all night, at least till 4am, (the latest hour I was awake.) I needed ear plugs in order to sleep. So, avoid any rooms below the kitchen too.
Other places to avoid: Under the running track if you are a late sleeper. Also under the pool area. Under or over the disco.

This is why when a cruise line offers guarantees (TBA's) it is always not the best idea to choose that option unless that is the only option that is offered and then you can take a chance.

FYI: The Carnival Destiny has cabins near the disco that are sold as "nightowl cabins." Great price.

Paul
