Hi Tara!

The Voyager class ships do provide much more to look at. It took me two cruises to find all the hidden spaces ( I cruised the Voyager in 2000 and 2001). I like the decor better on the Voyager. Plus the Voyager class ships are the only ships that have ice shows, which are very nice!

As far as food, I enjoyed the dining room food on my second Voyager cruise and loved Johnny Rockets. I think the pizzas and Chinese food are better on Carnival ships.

I enjoyed my Destiny cruise, but I found the Destiny decor to be dark - it reminded me of an old Vegas Casino well past its glory days. The new Carnival Pride is much better in decor.

When do you sail? Since price is an issue, maybe you can find an cruise broker that can give you a better price on your cruise. Or, if you are flexible, you can sail this fall for a cheaper price. I have been getting some great brochures and it seems that many of the cruise lines have great bargins for October and Novemeber before Thanksgiving. Perhaps you will be able to sail the Adventure for the price of the Destiny.

I do not "assure" anyone they are going to have a good time on a Carnival ship. Or on any ship for that matter.

If someone states they do not ike Carnival or any cruise line why am I to say "you'll love it."

Travel Professional should know that no one can change the mind of a RCCL lover.

What I attempt to say is that both RCCL and Carnival are both mass-market ships and cater to all kinds and types of passengers. They have the same type of pool games and the crowds around the pool are the same depending on the type of day.

If I was just pro-Carnival why would I brag about my trips on the RCCL Voyager and Explorer?

It boils down to this .... if you love cruising you will love just about any ship. You may have a bad experience on any ship or any resort for that matter.

We're Americans, we love to complain.

Happy cruisin'

Paul

Thanks everyone for the great input. Disagreement can be healthy in that it brings to light the differences in the ships and how people percieve them. My husband's fear of the Destiny is the crowd by the pool issue. We sailed on the Destiny 3 years ago on the W. Carb. and had to get a deck chair at 7:00 am or you didn't have one for the day. After reading these posts, we're going on the Adv. of the seas to try something different. If we don't feel that it's much better than Carnival, then we'll cruise Carnival again someday.

We;'re booking a D6 balcony room in the aft of the ship on the port side. From the brochure, that looks like a nice place to be.
