snorkeling in Ketchikan

Has anyone taken the HAL snorkeling tour in Ketchikan? It goes to the "clear waters of Mountain Point in water temperatures that often exceed those of Northern California coast." Wetsuit with hood, gloves and boots are provided. I'll be there in early June. Any comments?

I haven't done it but I am going to in May. I posted about the same thing on the US board and no one there had done it. We will be there in late May.

Thanks for your response. I think you must be going the week before I leave, which is out of Seattle on May 29th. Too bad there isn't enough time for you to report back. Is there anyone out there who has snorkeled in Ketchikan?

I have snorkeled in the Great Barrier Reef, The Keys,The Caribbean, Hawaii, etc. What would I see if I snorkeled in Ketchikan?

I did enjoy the white water rafting in Denali!

Good luck you guys!!

We did the snorkeling tour in Ketchikan last year. It was a great trip. The water was great, we weren't cold at all. The water temperature was about 60 degrees. That was in July. There's all kinds of things to see down there. The guides were great, they brought up all kinds of creatures for us to see and told us all about them. I saw on another website that they were voted excursion of the year last year by Princess Cruise Lines. Their website is
www.snorkelalaska.com if you want to check them out.

Sea monkeys are little bitty brine shrimp. I don't think there's any on this trip. If there are I don't think they attack. I posted more info about the tour on the US board too.
