Sharing Wine at Dinner
I will be bringing a large bottle of wine on my 7 day cruise. My wife and I are not big wine drinkers and figure that we can make it last 3 or 4 meals.

I understand that we will have to pay about $10 for the wine steward to open the bottle, and I assume that it is not expected that we share our wine with others at the table.

Am I right?
I've never had that problem Yoda. Usually after I twist off the cap and take my first big gulp of Boone's Strawberry Gold I offer it around the table, but find no takers. people don't know quality when the see it. Besides, Boone's tastes a lot better on the way back up than that fruity french swill with the poopoo name that they charge ya an arm and a leg for.

no, it is not expected. Let them bring their own wine, why give all those strangers your wine? If they don't like it, too bad, they are cheapskate greedy moochers. If you eat out in a restaurant, you aren't expected to share your wine with people at the next table, think of it that way -- it's the same thing, only on cruises you have bigger tables. Don't think of this as you being the host of the table as you would if you were at home or giving a party. If you had plenty of wine and wanted to, sure you could share it, but anyone who expects that is not worth caring about.

I am the original poster of the original wine thread. I just returned from my cruise and I see that someone else has pretended to be me.

Anyway I ended up sharing my wine and the husband ended up pouring his wine into his water glass to "dilute" it. What a waste!
