Not really. We've only had a butler on Regent once. He took care of some restaurant reservations, brought hors d'oeuvres in the late afternoon, took care of our laundry and dry cleaning. He also ran all over the ship looking for the canned soft drink I preferred with some success. I know that they will also unpack for you and even pack, but I have seldom heard anyone using that service. The only reason we had the butler was because we upgraded to a PH on the voyager on that cruise.

We've had rooms with butler service on all of our R7S cruises and while it is nice to have the service available I doubt we used it very much, other than to bring the nightly hors d'oeuvres and get us an "extra" dinner reservation at one of the specialty restaurants. By the way, the nightly hors d'oeuvres are nothing special and besides, with all the food available on the cruise having a few bite size snacks in your room at 5:00PM is no big deal.
Unless you belong to that part of society that has household staff and are used to having someone make your drinks, shine your shoes, make you tea and unpack or pack your bags there's not really much to gain. If you are not use to having someone wait on you hand & foot it feels a little "odd" to ask someone to do something that you can easily do yourself.
I wouldn't spend extra just to get "butler service". Choose a room with Butler Service because you want a bigger or better located room, not because it has a butler.

We had butler service on our transtlantic crossing on Cunard's Queen Victoria, result of an upgrade from a Princess Suite to a Queen suite when we checked in.
We were thrilled with the upgrade but did not make much use of our butler. After three days of free canapés we asked they not be delivered--just too much. He offered to unpack for us but we declined.
So, loved the huge, beautifully appointed suite but a butler's services wouldn't be the deciding factor.
