Princess and Celebrity back to back cruise in europe help please
We are disabled travelers sailing on Princess from Venice to Rome. The next day we are traveling transatlantic from Rome on Celebrity. I've booked the hotel through Celebrity and have transfers from my hotel to Citavecchia port so that part is taken care of.
My problem is when arriving from Princess at Citavecchia, I cannot buy a transfer from either cruise company to the hotel, even though both Princess and Celebrity use the same hotel.
Can someone suggest what to do?
Thanks in advance for your kind assistance,
Smiseel

I think the reason is that the hsips usually provide transportation to the airport but no to a specific hotel. The following company has good reviews on trip advisor.
http://www.romecabs.com/
I have seen some positive postings here on Fodors about them as well. Good luck. Larry

It is quite a disatnce from Citavecchia to downtown Rome. About an hour and half on freeway.
I have not used Romecab personally but I did contacted them last October (on a referral from Traveller69)and it was very positive experience dealing with them. The price is reasonable. They offer a "day tour" along with the transfer from port to hotel. They use exclusively Mercedes vehicles. All drivers speaks Enghlish.
The reason I did not use them was I ended up partnering with a group that had the transfers all prebooked. They needed 2 more to make it worth their while and I can't find enough extra bodies to fill my group.
The total cost for 2 people and total cost for 4 people is not that much different. For 2 people, it would be pricy. For 4 people and more, it is very reasonable.
Good luck!
