???Pride of America Hawaii Cruise

An acquaintance told of the Pride of America Hawaii cruise and I liked it. I have not been able to find any information about it. it. Also, I got the impression that it was a package from LAX.

I would be grateful for any help, or where to find help.

Pride of Hawaii departs only from Hawaii and the innaugural cruise departed from Fla across the Panama Canal I believe. Check www.cruisemates.com and cruisecritic.com reviews and message boards for comments.

Many cruise ships depart from Ca. but those are 12 day to 14 day cruises. The only one week itineraries are by NCL. Do a lot of reading up about the ship before you commit to it.

Pride of America and Pride of Aloha are Norwegian Cruise Lines [NCL] ships that are presently offering cruises to Hawaii.
NCL's Pride of Hawaii will begin cruising in June 2006.

Oops I'm sorry too, I meant Pride of America only sails out of Hawaii. I've got Hawaii melted on the brain

MY sister and I will be on the Pride of america in January. Have heard good and bad things about it. We picked it because we wanted to see Hawaii again, and didn`t want all those sea days from the mainland to hawaii. Yes, I know other people love those sea days, but we don`t. I got the best info from cruisecritic.

Where is the dock for the Pride of Hawaii located in Honolulu?
How long does it take to get there from the airport? Best way to go for people? Is there an arrive-by time? We are new to cruising & booking on line (w/o travel agent), and any info will be appreciated.

We were recently on the POAM. We had a good time, and the ship was beautiful. Seeing Hawaii was also great. However, the service and the food were not so good. If you go, try to schedule the specialty restauants right away, rather than dealing with the dining room food and slow service. We waited too long, and by the time we figured out the food in the dining room was subpar, it was too late to get good reservations. By the way, I didn`t mind the breakfasts anywhere, and even the food in the buffet was better than the dining room. Maybe I had lower expectations of the buffet. We had a great cabin steward, but some other people did not. We paid $30 to get a taxi from the airport to the ship. It docks at the Aloha tower. Getting on was easy and fast, and we got on about noonish. You might want to read www.cruisereviews.com, as well as the cruise critic message boards.

The reviews I've seen for PofHawaii haven't been great, but we are hoping it's because the ship has been in service such a short time. Thanks for your info!

The pride of Aloha has been sailing for over 2 years now, and they haven`t gotten their act together. Still bad service and subpar food. Go and enjoy Hawaii, and just don`t expect too much on the ship. Those ships are beautiful, that isn`t the problem, it`s the service and food
