Pre-cruise hotel Ft Lauderdale?

We have reservations for the Best Western Marina on 17th St for Oct before our cruise. I have heard some bad remarks about this hotel, could someone please give me an opinion on this hotel. I didn't want to spend a fortune for one night and it seemed well located to view the ships. Thanks
Cathy
Hi Cathy,

Why not try the Best Western Pelican Beach. I cannot see you staying in Ft. Lauderdale and not staying beachfront. Both hotels are 3 star but Pelican is less money and I have never heard a serious complaint.

Please remember it is not a Four Seasons or a Hyatt.

Have fun,

Paul

Thanks Paul,
I think I will do some more looking and will check into the other Best western you mention.
By the way, I have been lurking around here for months and I think you get a bad rap from people, I have always found your post very helpful.
Thanks
Cathy

Hi- I usually stay at the Hyatt Pir 66 on the Intravoastal waterway- it is a 5 min.drive by cab to pier , yet hotel is upscale, has gorgeous pool and restaurant next door has outdoor dining directly on the Intracoastal where you can sit out and enjoy dinner as the yachts and boats float by--have been staying there for years and will be staying there again this year--You will love it.

How about the Yankee Clipper? My husband and I have booked that for 2 days prior as well as 2 days following our trip. My in-laws stayed there for their honeymoon about 200 years ago...
Thanks!
Romy
