October- NCL- Pride of Hawaii

I am asking for opinions as I have put a deposit down on a NCL Pride of Hawaii cruise for my bf and I...I have read many postings on this cruise and I am afraid I wil be regretting paying the rest of the amount. I already purchased our airfare... We have had a very treacherous year, and I wish for this NOT to be the icing on the cake. Thank you all in advance for your time and thoughts.

Kindly,
Tiffany

Irish13girl,

Well this is rather putting the carriage before the horse wouldn't you say?? If you all ready booked it paid for air then you might as well go and enjoy. I was on the pride of Aloha and I wouldn't recommend it to many people. The food was below average, but it is a great way to see the islands of Hawaii. I think the Pride of Hawaii one is much newer and offers more in the way of restaurants. Check cruisecritic.com and cruisereviews.com As long as you are on a newer ship you should be o.k.

Hawaii is great and I am sure will enjoy the islands as we did. The nature and beauty of the islands especially Kauai will feed the spirit and sooth your soul. I am sure of this and sounds like you could use that so enjoy!

Went on the Pride of America last year, and while the food (didn`t eat in any specialty restaurants) was not good, and the sevice was poor, still don`t regret going. You don`t have to spend too much time on the ship anyway. Be sure and get a balcony. We did spend a lot of time out there, when we were on the ship.

The Pride of Hawaii is the newer, larger, faster of the 3 that sail around Hawaii. At least you picked the best one! The food on NCL is not that great, so make sure you make reservations at the specialty restaurants--I hear the steak house on the 10th floor is great. I tried the spa on the Pride of Hawaii and LOVED it....I had to be dragged out of there. LOL.

While in Honolulu, you will board at Pier 2, which is basically a warehouse area. Check in, drop your bags, and catch the free trolley to Aloha Tower Marketplace to have drinks & shopping before or after your trip. Here are some coupons:

We went on the NCL around the islands when the route was brand new, can't even remember the name of the ship, don't care, I don't care if the food wasn't perfect, I didn't have to cook it or clean up after it. What I did love was being able to visit each island and SAMPLE a little of what Hawaii has to offer. The itineraries can't be beat for that reason and ,unlike, most other cruises you're in port every day, the ship is a place to sleep. Is it on the par with a Four Seasons Hotel?-not even close-but the day trips make it worthwhile, in my humble opinion. If you go, I hope you'll enjoy.
