The Holy Land cruise looks good to me. Actually we were on the Tahitian Princess, identical to the Pacific in terms of size and even in relatively calm waters you do feel the movement a bit more so the small ships are out. I mean that I load up on "my" food after we get back home though beef can be had in the finer restaurants. In many places you will get lamburgers as well as veggie burgers. However for us we have decided to eat home cooked as much as possible as you can control the sanitation better. However and file this under the category of why did I ever try to predict what she wants now she said last night she would like to take a train ride, like through the rockies or somethinhg like that. So I said well what about the food. I doubt they would have Indian food on the train. Well then she said for one week it would be ok???? Huh? So what about a Euro. river cruise?? Who knows.

You should know better not to try to guess what DW wants . Just when you think you have it figured out, it changes!
My knowledge of Indian food is limted to naan, shahi paneer, curry, rice and that's about it. For a week, I am sure that they will be able to provide something simple. Bring your own spice and maybe that will do the trick.
Hmm ... maybe I should change my booking from a balcony near the back on the top deck to the center lower deck with only a window. Save some money and won't risk DW getting sea sick. We have been cruising for years and DW got sick on the last one, and in relatively calm water. The kitchen provided grounded raw ginger and it seems to do the trick.
I told her if she got sick again on the next cruise, that will be the end of cruising vacatons. She said she will pack dry ginger for the next one. I have never tried Bonine. I should ask my doctor.
Don't think for a moment that you don't feel any movement on a river boat. You have been warned .....

Thanks for the tip about the river boat motion. How much have you felt? I too hear great stuff about ginger. Bonine and dramamine have its followers too. I think it may be a good idea to talk to your MD B4 leaving. My wife had to see the ships MD once and she prescribed phenergan which worked quite well though we have to pay alot more that if we had it from our own MD. It may be expedient to have something prescribed on hand just in case. BTW the ships MD, a Briton, told us the "patch" is not longer used on Europe due to too many side effects.

Not really all that bad. We've been on two only. The Euro one was very smooth. Ship had 70 cabins. Very minimal compare to the megaships. No spas, casinos, discos, show rooms. Just quiet relaxing time and enjoy the view.
The other one was many years ago, the old Yangtsz 3 gorges before all the constructions. It was mostly smooth but you can definietly feel the movement at some passage. It is not rough, but on a small ship, you feel the slightest of moton, like a ferry crossing. The ship has about 100 cabins and very spartan. Food was acceptable at best.
I thought phenergan is for allergy and hay fever. You need a prescription for that anyway. My preference is for all natural cures. Yes it takes longer to work, but there is limited or no side effects.

Well, back to the OP!
I just got home from the amazing Oasis last night. I've sailed Carnival, Princess and RCCL and NOBODY can build a ship like RCCL or match its' innovations. If you want to nitpick, the dining room food is rather average- some things very good, sme things average- but the other places around the ship are fantastic. The Solarium bistro had awesome food. Anyway, I'm working on my really long review, because this ship is so different than any other ship I've cruised on. It's quite different than even the Freedom Class ships and I've sailed all of them. It was an amazing week, I just wish I had longer. I'll start a new thread with my review!

My understanding is that the Discovery Channel program on Oasis of the Seas is only showing in Canada. That is what I heard on the RCCL forum on curisecritic.com. And I have checked our Discovery Channel listings (we are in the metro D.C. area) for tonight and there is no such program coming on here.

Hi folks! I did not post my review here as promised. However, I will find it when I get home. I am in Bordeaux at the moment enjoying 2 blissful weeks throughout South France! I am booked on the Allure next January.
