You will love the decor, service and the complimentary wine every evening at 5:00 in the lobby. My husband & I stayed at the Monaco in San Francisco
last August. I believe there are 4 hotels in the US. The hotel is located a couple of blocks from the Quarter.
Since you only have 1 night I would explore the quater eat,drink........
We also had alot of fun on bourbon street in the afternoon the music, dance and drinks again we had so much fun.
We were there for 3 nights, took a long weekend with some friends for the Giant game at the Superdome.
Check on the Fodors US NO for some ideas regarding bars and restaurants.
I do not know your tastes but I will suggest Muriels Jackson square in the french quarter for dinner. (muriels.com) Mr. B's Bistro on Royal Street makes a great bloody mary or what ever else you may want it's a fun bar. Pat O'briens another fun stop for a drink. We were there on a busy weekend and just had a great time, you will love the hotel, the quarter and the southern hospitallity was wonderful. Have fun & enjoy your cruise. Let me know how you like the Monaco.
