n.y port from n.j..with elderly parent.

I'm traveling with my 81 yr. old mom. Can someone recommend the best choice for transportation/parking. We are taking the Celebrity Zenith.

Hi - Where in NJ do you live? We live in Northern NJ and either take a cab or find someone to drop us off. I know there is parking at the terminal also - not sure of the cost, but may be comparable to taking a taxi roundtrip.

I would look into taking a car service or taxi.

Check out the NY Passenger Ship Terminal website. Info on parking and transportation.

I have done this cruise many times. If you are not driving to the pier I would strongly recommend a car or limo service. Parking at the pier is ok, but its expensive and you cannot take your luggage up to the parking lot when you come back and disembark. You have to claim your luggage and leave it on the curb outside of the terminal while someone gets the car and then waits in a very long line to pull up to the terminal entrance. Or have someone drop you off. Allow for plenty of time. Getting in and out of that terminal can be somewhat nerve racking. Once you get on board everything will be fine. Ive been on the Zenith a couple of times and the ship is fine with excellent food and service. Bermuda is one of the best ilands in the world to visit. So I am sure that you will have a great time.

I'm coming from Monroe Township. I actually live in California.

Thanks for the advice. We are hiring someone to drive us. Sounds a lot more comfortable.
