Hi David: We've heard a few good things about the Bolero: smaller ship, therefore less impersonal, but fewer glitzy amenities that you would normally find on the larger cruise ships. Also, because it is a smaller ship it is able to pull right into the various ports, unlike the larger ships which transport you in on tenders. Because this is also our 1st cruise, we have nothing to compare it to. We'll just enjoy and take things as they come! We're travelling with our 2 children (14 & 15 yrs. old). They're very excited! We've signed them up for the teen club on board.
Are you flying out of Toronto as well? I just hope that so many stops won't prevent us from discovering all that there is to do on the ship itself. Feel free to e-mail us if you hear anything else regarding Festival cruises or the Bolero. Hi Debbie, We also have heard good things about Bolero. Our travel agent has sent 9 customers on it and never had a complaint. I've posted a question about shore excursions on this forum. There is some good information. The last response was dated 1/22/00.

Yes, we are flying out of Toronto. So we'll see you on the flight. We'll be the 4 adults with mathing hats that say "cruise 2000" on the front. I'll be the guy videoing everyone!.

Regards.

Hello Debbie. Thank goodness no tuxes or gowns. That just wouldn't be a holiday. It is my understanding that there are two evenings that require a jacket for the guys and "nice" for the gals. During the day it is relaxed and up one notch for evening. At least, that's the way I intend to be. We like to travel light. As mentioned this is our first cruise. Looking forward to it but think that I will miss being able to walk the beach several times a day.
