Legend of the SEAS!

(darn - posted this on the Europe board - does senility hit the fingers first?)

I can't find anthing about this ship - positive or negative. If you have sailed on her or know anything, please respond.

We are thinking about a New Year's Cruise on her, and need to make up our minds. (Hardest part about cruising!)

But I'm glad that I gave cause for some grins. Ya gotta laugh at everything you can! Sure better than watching CNN.

We did a Legend of the Seas cruise from Barcelona to Gibralter, Lisbon, LeHavre, Hamburg, Oslo, Copenhagen, England. The ship, food, service, etc was GREAT!!

We did a New Years cruise on Celebrity this past year. A great experience and another great cruise line.

Go for it!!!

Message: We sailed on the Legend 3 times - first time around Hawaii, the second was Scandinavia and the third time was this past Feb-March to Australia-NZ. It is really a nice ship and ahead of it's time (enclosed pool, beautiful theater, etc.) The first two cruises were great, but felt that on the third one the food and selection were not good at all -was a real disappointment.

Hi Brahmama,

We did the Legend in August, 1995, shortly after she started sailing and she was a beautiful ship. The cruise was to Alaska and I won $800.00 on a slot machine, so I'm a little prejudiced about the Legend.

We sailed on her again for the Millennium Cruise out of Sydney, Australia - which was a 3 week cruise - around Australia and New Zealand - and she was again a terrific ship.

I haven't been on her since but my impressions from those 2 cruise was very positive.

RCCL offers a better product than most people realize. I don't think they have lowered their standards.

I can highly recommend the Legend based on my 2 experiences.

PS -

We were on the Legend for Christmas and New Year's - on the Millennium Cruise - and the holiday specials that they presented were wonderful.

I will never forget the Christmas Carols in the atrium by all the children from around the world. ( We had 47 nations represented in our passenger list )

New Year's Eve was spectacular and we got to do it twice! We had sailed east of New Zealand and did the first night on the western side of the international date line and then sailed over it the next day and celebrated New Year's Eve all over again the next night.

A very special cruise which RCCL made even more special!

We have sailed on Legend 3 times. Hawaii, Panama Canal and Fjords/Britain. The last cruise in '01 was a disappointment. The quality of the food was poor and a limited selection. Recently, I read a review that concurred. I would do some research.....
