I am a huge fan of independent, but researched sightseeing. I just came back from a cruise with days stops at Crete (Heraklion side), Athens, Rhodes, Mykonos, Santorini, Malta (Valetta), Naples, Messina. I also took another recent cruise from Venice that stopped at Dubrovnik, Split, Istanbul, Katakolon, and Izmir. INDEPENDENT tours all the way! Ask away; the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. ,

That is what I've been looking for. Would love to do either Greek isles or Mediterranean but noticed most of the ship excursions are quite expensive. We have cruised before & I have booked independent tours at the port & have had great experiences. Is there a language barrier? What ship did you go on? Wanted to do one of the small ships since they can get into harbors the big ones can't. Tell me the tours you did & your experience. I'm listening.
