### Hubbard Glacier or Glacier Bay? ###
Planning family cruise with my mother (she saw Glacier Bay 25 years ago), husband and two kids, 9 & 6. Posters and the many books I read give awesome remarks to both, saying a cruise w/o each is not a good crusie. Leaning towards Hubbard as can get close to glacier vs. Glacier Bay see from 2 mile distance. Wish there was a cruise to see both! Please advise. THANKS!

On our last trip to Alaska, we were on the Dawn Princess which got pretty close to the glacier in Glacier Bay. Of course, maybe the rules changed since then. The bay is gorgeous but so is Hubbard. Can't go wrong with either.

That 2-mile distance raised a question. So I did a search and found that those cruise ships allowed in Glacier Bay typically go within 1/2 mile of the glacier.

Another thing...the combination of Glacier Bay and College Fjord can be awesome...worth consideration.
Am considering Celebrity Summit for July cruise. Stops include Hubbard Glacier and College Fjord; I am giving up Sitka as this ship also stops at Ketchikan, Skagway, Juneau and Valdez. Is giving up Sitka for College Fjord a good move? Most other Ports of Call include Sitka and not College Fjords. Have not heard great things about Valdez but to have Hubbard and College Fjord sounds like a good combo. At least JimM, above poster, enjoyed the Ivy league glaciers with Glacier Bay. Am leaning towards Hubbard and this Celebrity cruise is only itinerary offering it with College Fjord. THANK YOU.
