How old is too old for Disney Cruise?

My family and I are planning our next March break vacation and we have decided on a cruise(7 day). Disney came up as we have never been on a Disney cruise but have heard good things about them. My kids are 17, 15 and 5. I have no concern over my 5 year old - he'll be in heaven. What about the teens?

Teri,

You teens will have a blast on the Disney Cruise. My husband and I have been on the cruise twice (we have no children). We did a lot of exploring and talking to other people.

Disney really goes all out to make sure that there are activities for all age groups. There is a special "club" for teens that the kids really seemed to enjoy.

The ship is beautiful, the service is top notch and the Disney Magic abounds. It's DEFINITELY NOT just for little kids.

Kathi

Hi Teri,

Most teens are really not hat interested in structured activities. They would be more interested in meeting friends and hanging out. They do start out in the program and may enjoy the group games later if the friends all agree. This occurs on all cruise lines, not just Disney. For example at the dance clubs the kids just meet there and then go to other places on the ship to hang out, talk and act silly. One thing I can assure you, they will hate to go home.

Paul

i agree i do not think you will have any problems i had to beg my kids t come back at night so i could go to bed. I believe they take the older kids (17) into Nassau dancing but am not sure about that but thought i heard that. You will have a great time!!!

My husband and I did a 4 day Disney Cruise/package with Disneyworld combo. We are 40 something, and we really enjoyed ourselves. Just like the circus it is for "children" of all ages.

Disney may have initiated teen shore trips but I do not know if it is at other places than Castaway Cay. The cruise line may have a liability problem with dancing at shore clubs.

Most parents keep their kids with them since they are reluctant to let them off the ship with a group. Except at Castaway Cay, of course.

Paul
