Hotel near Tampa cruise dock

Can anyone recommend a hotel within walking distance of the Tampa cruise dock? Would the Tampa Marriott Waterside be close?

Thanks!

Have you tried the message boards at www.cruisecritic.com? I remember seeing a question similar to this one in the past....

perhaps try a text searxh on this section of the board:

Saw this site on cruisecritic for hotels with free parking & shuttle to ports. Try it........... parksleepfly.com .
Also go to 'ask a cruis equestion' on cruisecritic.com as other poster said.

Waterside is close as is the Hyatt Regency downtown. If you prefer a boutique hotel, try the Casa Vincente Inn, a small property in Ybor City.

We stayed at the Marriott Waterside last year prior to a cruise and plan to do the same next year. It's a lovely hotel, quiet location and a few minutes to the dock. You could walk it but not with typical cruise luggage.

You might not have to walk if you stay at the Tampa Marriott Waterside. There is a trolley system that goes directly from this hotel to the cruiseship docks. paste the address below into your web browser, and click on "about: station stops" and you can see that it connects. Last year when we took the trolley, several honeymooners got on with their luggage and traveled from the Marriott to their cruiseship stop! Fun!

P.S. We were staying at the Hyatt downtown, and this hotel is NOT on the streetcar line FYI (but the savings through Priceline would more than make up for that!).
