HAL -- Vista class
Just on the HAL web site, where I confirmed the cabin I was looking at (VC, deluxe outside veranda) can accommodate four (two adults, two children under ten). Any feedback on the Zuiderdam is appreciated.
Also, what do people generally think of the Vista class ships?
Thanks.

Going on the Zuiderdam 4/16. Newer ship ( 2+ years old ) most like it some don't. My wife son ( age 17 ) and I will be sharing a cabin very similiar to yours. Four in a cabin that size won't be spacious but you should be fine. Probably tough moving around at night when beds are out. I will try and remember to post back when I return. Cabins are configured for four with the use of sofa bed and loft bed I beleive. Go to www.cruisecritics.com they have a Holland America chat board much, much info on Zuiderdam there. Regards

I was on the Zuiderdam last summer and liked it. I was on the Amsterdam the year before and liked the non-vista styling better. The Vistas have staterooms on the stern, so you can't go hang out on the stern decks, which we enjoyed doing on the Amsterdam because they were deserted. The Zuiderdam is not as elegant, but very nice and comfortable. The staterooms are a bit smaller, and we felt cramped when the sofa bed was open. Still had a great time, and would sail the Zuiderdam again.
