Getting to docks in Miami

Me and my family of 6 are cruising from Miami in Nov. but have a PROBLEM! We want to stay near the dock(Carnival) and the recommended hotel says it will be $20 each for a shuttle. Can anyone help with a place that has a free or cheap shuttle to the docks? Thanks, Big family trying to cruise

My friends who cruise all the time stay at the Holiday Inn Port of Miami.Great rates and at last report had a shuttle to take you the quarter mile to the pier.

Hmm, well I just emailed my cruising bud and he said they took a taxi last month from Holiday Inn to the Pier. You cannot walk. The ships aren't as close as they look. The taxi was $10.So if you got 2 taxis that would be $20 better than $120.00.And yes, a lot of souvenir cash!! When I cruise I usually stay in South Beach so I have not personally stayed at the Holiday Inn.And since I usually pay for the cruise, whoever is tagging along with me pays for the cab.My last name is Christopher, not Trump!! Have fun on your cruise, one of my favorite things to do.

I live in Miami.I would double check on the Holiday Inn and make sure it is still standing. Many buildings have been torn down for the building of new condo's.Just take a taxi, you can request a mini van. Call Diamond Taxi they are the best.

Also weigh cost of hotel versus cost of cab or other tranportation to Port of Miami. Last Feb. we found some decent deals at hotels near airport with free shuttles from airport to hotel. Remember, you also have to factor in transport from airport to hotel.

I believe the best western on the bay & marina has cruise port packages - they are usually included in the price of your room you just have to ask for that specific package.
