Galapagos with Celebrity Xpedition - July 2012

I've finished posting about our pre-cruise days in Quito, and am now starting to post about our 7-day cruise aboard Celebrity Xpedition. Our itinerary took us to the Daphnes (circumnavigation), Santiago, Rabida, Isabela, Bartolome, North Seymour, Santa Cruz (north shore and south shore), San Cristobal, and Kicker Rock (sunset circumnavigation).

Posts about the pre-cruise portion are available from the sidebar; everything is in the July 2012 archive.

Wow great blog. Thanks for the report. We are seriously looking at booking this trip - so look forward to the next portions of your trip report. How did you choose the timing of your trip? Is there a best time for weather?

We wanted to go during the cool season, which runs from May thru December.

See this link ... http://www.galapagosislands.com/gala...s-weather.html

Aug/Sep might have been cooler, but we already had other commitments, hence it was July.

Our first afternoon at sea is now posted at http://2totravel.blogspot.com/2012/0...gnificens.html

wow!! your blog is amazing. thank you for taking the time to do it. we are going this july with my two late teen sons. we are so excited and your review made me more excited.
one quick question, do you make your shore excursion bookings on the boat? i can't seem to find a way to do it on celebrity website.
also, how strict are they with your luggage on the flight to baltra? we prob will do 4 rolling duffels and maybe one carryon roller and backpacks. will they allow that?
