free Carnival cruise decision

With a car purchase, we were awarded a free 4-night Carnival cruise. Choice are: Key West and Cozumel OR Freeport and Nassau. Any opinions on which would be a better choice?

You didn't give us much to go on. Are you paying the airefare, what time of year, which ships are they offering, have you ever been to any of these places or on a cruise, what time of year you'd be going, etc?
For example, if you were going in January I wouldn't choose the Bahamas, you could get some cold weather, etc. If you post some more information manybe we can help you.

The previous poster asks good questions. I thought Freeport was in Nassau. Are you sure the other island isn't a "private island"? I would always pick Cozumel & Key West over Nassau. Key West is fun to poke around and Cozumel has great snorkling, parks etc. Just my opinion.

B.:

Seems to me that there's nothing you can do in the Bahamas that can't do in Cozumel.

Cozumel has better snorkeling. If you're going on the Imagination (as I am next Thursday!) the ship stops in Playa Del Carmen first, so you have the chance to visit the Mayan ruins at Tulum.

You don't get to spend too much time in Key West, but it's a neat little place to walk around.

The most memorable thing I did in Nassau was a dolphin encounter (Blue Lagoon), though they do have something similar in Cozumel. Walking around Atlantis was fun for an hour or so.

The only reason I can see for picking the Bahmas would be if the schedule is better (i.e., more time in port) and all you really want to do is lay on a beach (not to say that's not a worthy goal).

Cheers!

Definitely do Key West and Cozumel. Two entirely different places, Key West is fun, Cozumel has great snorkeling. We just came back in August and had that itinerary. Been to Freeport and Nassau, wouldn't want to go again. Not much to do or see, unless you go to Atlantis.

I agree with the other posters. Do the Key West/Cozumel cruise. By the way, Freeport is the main city on Grand Bahama island and Nassau is the capital city for all the Bahamas. They are separate islands and just two of more than 700 that make up the Bahamas. Both Freeport and Nassau can be quite cool during the winter months. They are roughly on the same latitude of Palm Beach and Miami respectively.
