finding fellow passengers before cruise starts

I know there are sites out there where you can find other passengers who are on the same cruise you've booked prior to the cruise leaving. Does anyone know of these sites? I'm interested in a particular cruise but want to see what the age group is before I sign up. Thanks!

Jon,
Try cruisecritic.com. Click on Boards, then on the cruise line you are looking for. There is also a board for "are you sailing with us?" or something like that as well as the cruise line threads.

www.cruise-addicts.com

They actually have a separate "Are You Cruising with Me?" message board for your very purpose.

A lot of people don't bother with the Are you sailing with me on Cruise Critic. Go the the cruise line's own board and you will find more people.

I'm glad you asked this question. I'd really like to know why anyone would want to make contact with other cruisers before the ship sails.

We just came back from the Volendam and met up with people from CC and CM.

We didn't know ages (ex. 1) or lifestyles, etc.

We were happily surprized to have so much fun with them.

We have been on 12 cruises (9 by ourselves, which we love)

How do you know anyone on these boards? meet and find out! This was a good group, they included us in the vow-renewing ceromony, went on tours, met for drinks, etc.

We could have avoided if we had wanted to, but it was great.

Would love to do it again, anyone going on the Maasdam, Sept. 18 or 25th, we'll be on both!

To Interested Bystander,
As I said in my post, I wanted to get an idea of ages of people who are on the cruise I was thinking of. Being the QE2, I was concerned that it would be all elderly people. Not that that's a bad thing, but we're in our early 30s. So just curious.

Thanks to all who gave the sites!
