Dress code on Celebrity

My husband and I will be taking a cruise on the Infinity in Sept. 11 days to Hawaii. I have read in a previous posting (2003) that Celebrity has eliminated semi-formal nights in response to passenger requests. (I know that Princess has already done this). Has anyone been on a Celebrity cruise recently that can give some information? Thanks so much.

Hi Judith:
I have not seen semi-formal on Celebrity's dress code listed in the past 2 1/2 years.

They have formal, informal, casual categories. I was on Celebrity in 2002 and 2003. I would imagine your semi-formal is Celebrity's informal (Jacket, long pants and optional tie for men). So IMO Celebrity is still holding on to a strict code.

Have a great cruise to Hawaii! You'll love Celebrity!!

Thanks so much for the information. This will be our first cruise on Celebrity (our 13th overall). I imagine that informal for women would be dress or pants suit?

That is correct, JudithE.
And no jeans in the dining room or shorts in the dining room after 6PM.

Happy cruising!

Thanks "cruiser" for your help. This gives me some time to prepare my wardrobe. Have another question about Celebrity and will post a new message.

We were on Celebrity last August and can concur that there was no semi formal night (although this was not the case maybe 8 years ok).It was a 10 day cruise that had 3 formal nights.

"Semi-formal" is a term I got from Princess. Basically, as I understand it, "informal" is tie and sports jacket for men and dress or pant suit for women. Either way, you have 3 styles of clothing at dinner, not 2 like on Princess. I feel that the less you have to pack the better.
