Does Location of Your Room Make a Difference?

We are going on a Carribean cruise on the HAL Westerdam next year. We have reserved to suites that are located at the very front of the boat. A friend at work says that she has heard hat it is best to stay more in the center, for motion purposes. Any opinions?

It has been our experience that we feel the motion the least midships as low as possible. Since my husband battles motion sickness, this is important to us.

Yes, Don. Reserve a lower deck, mid (center)ship for the least motion!

I always say think of a "see-saw" at a playground. If one person sits on each end, and a third sits in the middle, which one sees the least motion? Answer: The person in the middle who only rocks a little, both persons sitting on the ends move up and down a lot. Ships are the same principle.

If motion sickness is not a problem, don't worry about it. We love to be between mid-ship and the bow always. The Caribbean does not usually have high seas or the turbulance of the north Atlantic. Have fun, enjoy your suite.
