Does Disney cruise always stop at private island?

I know some of the other ships have to take tenders to their private islands and if weather is bad that stop is cancelled. Since Disney docks right at their private island I'm assuming it would even in bad weather? Thanks for any help.
I have never heard of Castaway Cay being cancelled but I imagine if the storm was extremely bad it would occur. Who would want a beach day in that kind of weather?

Paul

I think I read somewhere that the ships need to be out at sea during hurricanes and bad weather. They have the potential to run aground or wreck piers if close to shore. That would also apply to Castaway Cay. During bad weather they'll just reroute to a calmer place.

We took the 3 day cruise last March. The week before ours they were not able to dock because of the weather and had a day at sea. When we docked there, there was a torrential rain storm and we had to go back to the ship about noon because of the lightning. These were all safety issues and they did these things for our safety. We were also refunded for our gear that day on the island. It gave us more time to enjoy the ship.

Their private island apears to be a challege to dock at. Recently, say the last four cruises, the wind and tide has been so severe that they've either skipped it or had to make several passes at docking.
