Do you have Fodor's European Ports of Call?

If yes, I will tell you how to find a typo there.

What is the address for editors? [email protected] ? or Fodors.com ?

I think it is fodors.com. Is that the typo?

No, it's me not remembering the e-mail

The typo is in Amsterdam description: on page 315 it says "the shops dock" instead "the ships dock"

I wrote to Fodor's about this. They've just replied and, I'm pleased to say, the entire print run will be pulped. Amy D will be exposed to sunlight for seven days as a punishment and her nameless bosses spayed.

There's also a special prize coming your way, Dayenu - an award for Pedant Of The Year. Bravo!

Too late for entire print run - I have a copy. I will keep it for generations to come. Your descendants, Dogster, will curse your name for not getting them a copy.

Forgive my curiosity, what Amy D has to do with it?

Isn't Amy D the editor?

Spell check doesn't catch typo that was spelled correctly.

lol great reply.

Amy D? Nothing really.

She gets easily upset. Best to pamper her.

Luckily, I have no descendants to curse me. I am a tragic single mutt: sans youth, sans teeth, sans sense... sans everything. Even my face is sick of scowling.

{I'm pleased with myself: I've just managed to mangle references to 'As You Like It' and 'The Rocky Horror Show' in one glorious sentence.]

Oh, no!! Does this mean, I am not getting a "PeNdant of the year"?

(Eschew: no, there is another name in the book, not Amy)

As far as I'm concerned, <i>everything</i> Fodors is run by Amy D.

Dogester, and I think you are right on this one ...
Dayenu, I think I have the book somewhere so I will have to look for it and see if mine has thhe same typo as well. While I am at it, I will check the name.

I found my book and the typo is there. Does it mean my copy worth something now as they had trashed the rest?

When you pass it down to the 3rd generation it will become antique. If signed by the author, that is.

(sorry, I was in New Mexico)
