Check the Princess Cruise line website. The Dawn has been doing the San Francisco-Mexican Riviera route but it will be doing San Diego-Mexico as well.

From San Francisco either down to Mexico or up to Alaska. I heard, the inner passage is beautiful, and not as rough.

Hi, a special thanks to those who replied, but alas my wifes dream will never come true....i telephoned P&O offices in London, only to be told that the Dawn Princess is only for US citizens to cruise on ...we can fight side by side in war, but we cannot go on a cruise.. kind regards mike

Your comment about only US citizens allowed on the Dawn Princess sounds ridiculous. Princess is an international company. I've sailed before and had many nationalities aboard the ships.

I clicked on two websites and was allowed through to the Dawn Princess booking. It didn't say US citizens only. Perhaps the P&O (don't know what that is) came up with a block because the cruise you wanted was booked?

Of course you can cruise it. Call again. All you need is a passport.

Strange. Really strange. Usually there are 2 lines to board a ship - one for US citizens, another for all other countries.

Funny but I was on the Dawn Princess last year and I could swear the gentleman sitting at our table every night was from Glasgow, which last time I checked was in the UK!! Don't bother with P&O, find a reputable travel agent. Of course you can book a cruise on her, she is my favorite ship.

Mike: We will be sailing on the Dawn Princess this December (San Diego - Mexico). This will be my 5th cruise on Princess; a very nice line. I guarantee Princess allows citizens of all countries (with proper passport) aboard their ships. Enjoy your cruise!

I wonder if the problem is with contacting P&O verses Princess. P&O used to be the parent of Princess but they all fall under the Carnival umbrella now.

I wonder if P&O only books P&O cruises plus the one ship that P&O and Princess share (6 months with one company and 6 months with the other per year).

Try this website and see if this helps:

BTW - I love the Dawn Princess.

We just took the Dawn Princess to the Mexican Riviera, and met a lovely couple who live in Wales.
