Celebrity/Horizon

I'm considering a Southern Caribbean Christmas cruise on Celebrity's Horizon.
Any words of wisdom from past Horizon passengers would be greatly appreciated.

We did that cruise last November and if we had to do it again we would not. The embarkation/debarkation procedures were a joke - many missed their flights home after returning to port because of ineptitude and confusion on part of the crew. The ship was okay, entertainment satisfactory, but the food was cafeteria style bland. We have taken several RCCL cruises in the past and would go with them again before booking another Celebrity cruise. Some say Princess Lines are good.

We have been on 16 cruises (3 on Celebrity-1 on the Horizon)and feel that Celebrity is one of the best lines of the 8 we've been on. The food (both quality and presentation) and service are outstanding. The Horizon does not have the big atrium and glitz and flash of some of the newer ships but it certainly takes nothing away from her glamour and quiet elegance. You will find plenty of on-board activities and a good mix of age groups. One thing we REALLY like on Celebrity ships is none of that constant PA announcements for every activity. We feel Celebrity has one of the better embarkation and disembarkation programs (of course we're Captain's Club members, which does help get you on and off much quicker) The ship was in drydock not long ago and I hear the new improvements are great. The cabin sizes are good, with plenty of drawer and closet space and an in-room safe. I think you'd be very happy with a cruise on the Horizon and crusing during the holidays is a special treat.

We were on the Horizon several years ago and found it to be one of the best cruises we were ever on. We have been on 12. The ship, food, and crew were all great. I don't think that you can go wrong on Celebrity.

We are cruising the Horizon, Dec. 23rd out of Aruba.

Hear good things about Celebrity and the Horizon. Food and service get top marks from most.

We were in Barbados and St. Lucia on our first cruise - great islands! Looking forward to St. Kitts and St. Thomas, too. We heard that that the shops should be open on Xmas day on St. Thomas. Businesses may be closed on Boxing Day on St. Kitts. Guess we will have to go to the beach!

We are in our early 30s. Expect diverse group (many kids) for holiday cruise.
