Alaska - Holland America vs Royal Caribbean
My husband and I are planning a cruise to Alaska, we are in our late 30's. We have narrowed our choices down to HA & RCCL, mainly because they leave out of Seattle area and my husband does not want to end up in Alaska and have to take a 2 hr bus ride to the airport. Plus he has found less expensive airfares into Seattle from NJ.
Would love any feedback from others who have cruised to Alaska on either of these lines. Shore excurtions that are a must and ones to avoid or go out on your own.
Thanks
Elaine

My wife and I have cruised Alaska on RCCL from Vancouver. We absolutely loved the ship, the staff, the food and the beautiful scenery and majesty of Alaska. The ship we went on was the Legend of the Seas but I would recommend you go on the newer Radiance of the Seas. We have also done one HAL cruise, a Christmas cruise through the Panama Canal and we loved it to. ( It's hard not to like cruising ) The HAL ship will have a little older crowd but I must say our tablemates on HAL, though older, were a blast. You won't go wrong with either of these two very fine and professional cruise lines. At your age I would suggest RCCL though.
