Actually Princess is in a way our fav. Line as we have cruised with them more than any other line. Their service has been excellent and the Sapphire is one of our fav. ships just back of the AOS. Now that the S has been refitted who knows if it will be on top of our list again.
For us our preference if we can get it is destination AND ship. A combo of both is ideal.
As we seldom travel to the same place more than once we look f/w to something new and different and that includes the ship if possible. I suppose that's why we like different ships, esp. the new ones with bells and whistles. . That's why we like RCI ships as they seems to be the most innovative. I am tempted to try the NCL Epic and the Breakaway but am a little shy in that their reviews, though much improved from yrs. past still are a little spotty. I suppose one day we'll give it a go as its new for us.
We weren't too impressed with the Connie last yr. as far as the ships looks go. The service was wonderful though they really laid an egg in providing quality special request food for my wife. We have always requested Indian food for her and b4 this it was always pretty good. In fact the Star Princess was the best by far in this regard. Of our 9 cruises this request was made but the chef on the Connie really dropped the ball. Even the maitre'd was embarrassed as he tried to be sur they got it right.
I would go on Princess again but I think we needed a break from the sameness of the ships. I certainly hope they have that sameness when it comes to service.
