11th Hour- does anyone use them?

I get mails from 11th hour.com with better prices and better staterooms than I can get anywhere else online. Are these folks legit? Has anyone used them? I have never cruised so everyone tells me to use a travel agent? Why? Especially if I can get a better rate online.

ANy help would be appreciated.
Thanks. I have learned a lot from you guys.
Hi Carol,

For the first time at least, go to a travel agent. You should not get burned by a reputable agent.

First, get brochures of a few cruise lines. Get an idea what an inside and outside stateroom is. Choose an itinerary that you like. Choose 2 or three cruises that you think you would like.

Then go to a travel agent and tell them that you wish to have them walk you through the entire cruise process from the time you leave to the time you return home. Go with your budget in mind. Do not let them talk you into a higher category which is unnecessary. If you are not comfortable with that person either talk to the owner or go to another agency. Take advantage of the free service and if it costs you $50 more for your cruise and you have peace-of-mind, so be it.

Happy planning.

Paul

The first time I would use a local travel agent. You will have a lot of questions and they can assist you.

After you get the hang of things - then go on the internet.

Carol, I just checked with 11th hour for a cruise I will be booking soon. The price was more than the price I received from the Cruise line. Granted it was only a few dollars, but there was no saving.

I did have a coupon from the Entertainment book that will save me $100 on the total cost of the stateroom.

Let me know if you find any other discounts.
