Ive never been to an island where good snorkleing was at my "Doorstep"
In turks, you could go right off the beach, but it was a long walk from where u were staying or a long drive on one of those so called roads.
Ive never seen a caribbean island chef on that program actually.

OK Tim, you say you didn't understand my question, and I guess I don't completely understand your answer.

I asked about CLEAR water, not CLEAN water - never thought it was dirty. I noticed that the brochure photos I've seen for St. Martin resorts - which presumably show things in the best possible light - generally show beaches with a fair amount of surf, which kicks up sand and makes the water opaque near shore.

What are your recommendations for beaches on St. Martin with clear, calm water ?

Sorry.
I would say that Grand case beach, which is narrow, has clear calm waters.
Also, Friars bay is calm. So is bay long.

Well, so far no one seems to be convinced that St. Martin is the best, by far. Keep trying, Tim!

I dont remember saying it was the best. Read harder.
Also, Im not trying to turn people to go there, im just saying I think St. martin should get more recs because it had so much to offer.
Keep starting fights on travel boards, your a cool girl.

I love all of the islands, Im just iffering an opinion, (thats what this is for) that I think that St. martin is the island I go to when I want a loaded, fun and relaxing vacation, thats all. I mean ive been to 12 islands, small and pristine, touristy and crowded.

Sorry, my mistake. Well, looks like still nobody convinced SXM has the best food, by far. Or that in terms of a fun vacation, St. Martin wins (so is presumably the best, but not actually stated as such). Keep trying, Tim!

Tim, if you wanted to walk right out of your resort and go snorkeling you should have stayed at the Coral Gardens Hotel in Provo, Turks & Caicos. It was fantastic!

I stayed at beaches TK in July. I hated the resort, Especially after eating St. martin food! But the island was very interesting. Almost nothing there. You can rent a 4 wheeler, go to a dirt road, and gt your dream beach to yourself. THE BEST SNORKLEING 2 inches from the beach. (Tiki hut beach)
However, everynight we were back in our rooms at like 8, and it got sometimes boring the days we styaed at the resort. I was not bored, but my family was. I can sit on a beach for 20 years.
Augie- Im not trying to get you to go to St. martin, you have never been there and you have no school what your talking about. Dont reply to my posts, as I dont give a rats you know what what you say.
