Punta Cana Good or What
Planning a trip to Punta Cana after first of year. Any info regarding this place. Probably stay at the Allegro resort. I stayed at one in Puerto Vallarta last year and liked it alot. How is the weather food, service, drinks. Do they have Canadian Whiskey and what kind of beer do they have?

The Allegro offers good value. The weather is great. Even though it is in an area of 3 hotels you can walk past the Natura (north of Allegro) and have 6 miles of open deserted beach.Going south past Mac Bavaro Grand 2 miles to the nearst hotel. The food was great. Monday they have a wonderful beach barbeque, and Wed. they have a outside buffet. Locals also seet up air, cigars, jewelery etc. Coice of 4 restuarants Italian Seafood, And Caribbean plus a pizza al fresco cafe. The place had Presidente Beer whichin most restuarants was self self. I would go again.Share with me what you finally do. Also check out, www.debbiesdominicantravel.com

Go to..www.debbiesdominicantravel.com for the best and most information on the resort and area.. Punta Cana isn't anywhere near Santo Domingo. We were at the Catalonia Bavaro...enjoyed the beach at La Romana better.. but weather is hot, hot, hot.. This year we are off to the Boca Chica area which is closer to S.D.

My wife and her friend just returned 2 days ago from the Paradisus (all-inclusive) resort in Punta Cana and loved. We've been to Aruba (Marriott, La Cabana) St. Martin/Maarten (Maho, St. Tropez hotels) Paradise Island and <BR>Cancuun and she says this place was the best. Great beach and water, huge immaculately kept pool, good food and booze and a decidedly foreign feel (few Americans). There is an airport in Punta Cana so try to fly into that airport after connecting from San Juan. It will be helpful if you know some key Spanish words/phrases as little English is spoken. My feeling is the words Dominican Republic and the fact that is shares the island w/ Haiti keep a lot of people away from Punta Cana, but this is gradually changing. The Paradisus resort costs slightly more than their competition but probably worth it. They have all kinds of booze, including top shelf stuff. Have fun.
