If you had to choose between Jamaica & Puerto Rico for a 3 day vacation in Jan '03 - which would it be? Your plans would be to sit on a beach, relax & read.

Well as your previous post, which was posted a mere 3 minutes prior to this question states that you ARE travelling to Jamaica in Jan 04, I guess you answered your own question.

Not necessarily - just found a free flight to Puerto Rico.

I don't really know Jamaica, but from what I do know, you're probably better off going there if what you want is beach and relaxation. There are more self-contained beach resorts in Jamaica than in PR. You can find quiet and seclusion on the beach in PR, but you have to go outside San Juan for that, and with only 3 days, you don't want to spend time driving halfway around the island.

Jamaica for sure! It's my favorite island. It's easy to get to, and has some nice beaches. Very laid back too. I've been there 7 times, and am a travel agent, so let me know if you need some hotel suggestions.
