*Which Allegro Resort???*

My family of four to incude a 10 & thirteen yr. old are trying to decide where to travel.
The considered dates are the end of July or beginning of August. We're interested in a beautiful beach, good food, excursions, and decent accomodations. We see Allegro offers opportunities on several islands. Which is the best? Cozumel, Playa del Carmen, Punta Cana, Turks & Caicos, or Antigua. Other opinions are favorable too. Thanks in advance.

My family stayed at the Caribbean Village in Cancun. It is family oriented ( not topless ) and the food and services were excellent! The entertainment was provided by a group of talented young people and was quite good. The beaches at Cancun are lovely and the hotel zone is extremely safe. There are a number of trips available to places like Xcaret(great), Isla Mujeres,Cozumel or Tulem.

haven't been to cozumel yet, but we've been to cancun, we stayed at one nice palace, i think it was the sun palace.the place to stay is moon palace cancun.the kids will enjoy cancun better, it's bigger than cazumel, there's more to do for them in cancun.one bus ride to the end of the strip takes you to the center of shopping and entertainment, they will love it.we went around spring break ,and kids were having a blast.my son, who is 16 loved it, and met new friends there.breakfast and lunch was very, very good, the spread and variety was very good. dinner? i expected less mexcian and more international food.we visited moon palace, and i know i will go back, it's new and beautiful.the beach in moon palace is much nicer than the sun palace.
i think all the palaces are connected somehow with allegro.
we also stayed at the allegro resort in aruba, a little deserty, but BEAUTIFUL BEACH it's like a huge pool, the wind is blowing from land to water,no waves. food was good, dinner was good. they have a great italian restaurant.more to do for kids, like jeep tour,SAILING with snorkel, etc.my son loved it too.
hope i helped some.
nitza.

Palace and Allegro resorts are in no way connected. allegro resorts are connected to Jack tar village resorts(next door to Cancun palace in Cancun). I visited the palace resorts and thought they were awful. i would never go back. they advertise as "deluxe" and I have seen nicer Holiday Inns! The food was subpar as well because there was little choice except buffet which served the same thing everyday.

As far as allegro resorts go, I haven't been yet. But, I am going to Allegro Jack Tar village St. Kitts in march. It looks really nice and I got a GREAT deal. apple Vacations is running a package special $999 including rountrip air for February and march which is unbelieveable. Anyone have any comments about this resort?

Hi Mesha I have stayed at the allegro on coz, spent time in playa and also punta cana in the dominican.
I did cared least for the punta cana in all of our trips south. The beach and facilities were gorgeous but the food lacked, and there was not alot in the general area to do that you did not have to sign on for some type of tour. Snorkeling and diving were also poor.
Cozumel allegro is nice, but somewhat far from town. If you are a diver you are close to the reef and any dive op will gladly pick you up at thier pier. Although thier on site dive shop dive Palancar is not bad. If you stay rent a car a couple days, the other side of the island is not to be missed and town in the evening is always fun.
Playa is central to Tulum, Xcaret,Shelha
so it is an excellant choice if snorkeling and diving are not your priority for that coz is the place.
The Mayan coast is beautiful and city buses in town central can get you anywhere cheaply Meridia, ChitzenNitzq (spelling??) I would highly recommend either. My kids loved the Allegro fun activities staff and lots of snorkeling. Good Luck Rita
