Where to Stay and Dive in Belize
My husband and I are thinking of traveling to Belize in March. Any recommendation on the best place to stay and dive? We would prefer locations that offer dive packages since we are avid divers (and would like to see the whalesharks!). Thanks!

I don't dive, but have read the whale sharks are around during a few days before and after the full moon in the spring months off the coast of Placencia. If I wanted high end, I'd stay at Turtle Inn. It's beautiful, still close to the village of Placencia for more restaurant options.
You might get more resposnes in the Central America section.

You might want to consider one of the places on the atolls (like Manta Ray Resort or Turneffe Resort, though we haven't stayed at either), so the diving is very close by. We stayed at a kayak/snorkeling base that had a dive operation on Glover's atoll, and it was fantastic, but so rustic there was no electricity or hot water (and a compost toilet) - fine for us, but not for everyone.
