What's open on Sunday in Grand Cayman?
Our cruise ship will be anchored outside Georgetown, Grand Cayman on a Sunday. I read somewhere that everything is closed on Sunday. I had hoped to walk around town and do a little shopping. Am I out of luck? Is there any other "free" activity in town?
We have a short excursion planned - Stingray City - but there is time before it.
Perhaps we can have an early lunch. Is there a good restaurant by the cruise ship loading/unloaching area (I realize that we'll be coming in by tender...)
Thank you
Sue

Whenever there is $ to be made things will be open..Coming in by tender in the harbor or south sound..?? That will impact the time on shore and return to ship time. You will enjoy sting ray city..

Sunday arrivals for cruise ships are rare. Are you sure you are arriving then? Most stores are closed on Sunday but some tourist orinted stores may be open. However almost all restaurants are open. A little north of the cruise terminal are Casanova and La Dulce Vita both of which serve good Italian food. The Lobster Pot and Da Fish Shack are in the same area. Margaretaville, Breezes and Guy Harvey are more touristy and I don't recommend them.
Prices may be higher than you expect because of the currency difference.
