What is a French Balcony?

I was told by the Beaches property that their Luxury rooms have French Balconies as apposed to a full walk out/sit down balcony.

What is a French Balcony?

Thanks.

It's any balcony where you happen to have your tongue in someone else's mouth.

You can't stand or sit on them?
We are they there?
Is this room worth getting over the Deluxe with only the sliding windows?

Sounds more like a Polish balcony to me...

It has to be for decoration only because I don't think they are wide enough to even stand on. It looks more like a really narrow balcony from the outside.

A room with a french balcony has sliding glass doors that open but there is a railing right across the opening. You get the benefit of wide open doors but not a place to walk out or sit.
