Wedding Suggestion - Round Hill, Tryall, Half Moon

Considering all three for a May wedding. Hope for 30 guests, want beautiful, casual, great food, great service and FUN! The best scenario is to have the reception poolside at the villa. Which resort best? Anyone been to a wedding at any of these resorts?

By Half Moon, I assuming you are referring to Half Moon on the island of Jamaica. A BEAUTIFUL spot, with acitivites and facilities for ages 5 to 85. Quite pricey, however, and after 4 trips to Jamaica in the past 10 years, I will not go again. Native Jamaicans are not fans of Americans. The first and third times I went there, I came WAY too close to being raped by being on a dark beach too late at night and escaped only by screaming my head off and running. If you stay put at the Half Moon Resort, however, you should be just fine, and the beaches, snorkeling, pools, activities, and food at ( I believe they are now up to 5 restaurants) are 5 diamond. There are dozens of incredibly picturesque places to have a wedding in the Caribbean, and Half Moon is one of them in my opinion. Have a wonderful wedding!!

WANDA: Round Hill would be best of all three but ONLY if you rent villas;'The Bunkhouse' aka the two story rooms only part of Round Hill is best avoided. It's a very stylish yet low-key-why-flaunt-it-you've got it place. Half Moon despite the probs of the poster above, is far more resorty, tho there is a very stush and posh villa adjacent to the resort. Tryall is best only if you're going to play golf.

RH and Tryall offer two different experiences: RH has a hotel and a bed & breakfast product at the cottages, Tryall's villas provide a totally private, in-villa dining and entertaining lifestyle. My personal feeling would be that Tryall offers a more exclusive, intimate wedding experience with 30 guests housed in 4-5 villas. Each villa can host lunches, dinners, cocktail parties, after-dinner drinks and dancing whereas at RH the assumption is that you and your guests will be on a meal-plan at the dining room. Privacy is a definite advantage at Tryall where the villas are more spread-out and the threat of disturbing neighbors far lessened. Both places are beautiful (I haven't mentioned Half Moon because it's really just an all-inclusive hotel and if you include it we may as well debate Sandals) and you can't really go wrong. Tryall will also cost your party far less (in-villa dining you only pay for the cost of purchasing the food; not restaurant prices). You need a garden for an in-villa wedding? You'll find more space at Tryall with both hillside and seaside options. For more Tryall info check out the main club website: www.tryallclub.com and for articles about Tryall visit:
http://www.randolins.com/Tryall%20Reviews.html
"Half Moon because it's really just an all-inclusive hotel "

They offer an all-inclusive plan but you don't have to take it. They also have villas onsite and adjacent.

I wouldn't say Half Moon is comparable to Sandals - I've been to both and Half Moon is quite different....much bigger, more variety of accomodation, not all-inclusive....also has more style, I think...it's older and has a sort of colonial feel. Also golf, riding stables and tons of tennis, and 3 beaches...over 50 swimming pools or something like that.
