We have narrowed it down to 2 destinations for our trip and can't decide which one??

OMG you guys we are so pathetic. We have gotten two vacations to decide between and now are ready to book but can't decide between Cat Island,Bahamas/Fernandez Bay Village or Negril,Jamaica/Catch Falling Star??????
Those are probably two of the most different places we could have possibly chosen. We want to book today but are torn between the two because both look and sound wonderful.
Help!Where would you go??

Those are two different places so I guess it depends what you're looking for.

I would choose Cat Island for its remote and undeveloped (for now) charm.

I didn't see much of a beach at Falling Star so if you're wanting to stroll the beach then its Cat Island.

Here is a trip report that was on Abaco Message Board:

There's another one I bookmarked and will post it when I find it.

Falling Star looked nice if you're not a beach person, though. More dining options as well.

Nevermind, see from another thread that you've read Callaloo's trip report.

But then you said you've got flights and a room on Cat Island --

I'm confused. Are you considering canceling Cat Island for Jamaica?

Hi BeachGirl,Thanks for all the links about Cat Island.I did check into availability for our dates to Cat Island and Jamaica. Both have availability but I have not pushed the 'book it' button yet.
I was going to book Cat Island right after I posted and then made the mistake of looking at the Cliffs resorts of Negril.I love a beach to walk on but on the other hand swimming off a cliff looks very intriguing too!
Something I haven't done yet!
It's a tuff decision and I'm mad at myself that I keep going back and forth with my choice and going nowhere. And I will be going nowhere if the flights and resorts are booked before I decide.
Ugh...

I've not been to Cat Island but I did stay at Catcha Falling Star a year ago and loved it...very private, only a few cottages. Great snorkeling and swimming off that cliff, neat outdoor coral shower built right into the cliff. Breakfast served on your porch each morning, dinners can be cooked for you there or you can go out to one of several restaurants within walking distance.

Some pictures:

...more on the next couple of pages.

I just got back from Negril in february and it was gorgeous. I can't say enough about the people, the culture and the water. It was the warmest water all day/every day.

I am biased however, as I got married there good luck and enjoy your trip.

Debbie: I must say, it's been entertaining reading all your posts. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who goes back and forth (for quite awhile I might add) before deciding on a place. Too many places to pick from, I say! Enjoy your trip.

Hey Debden, didn't think that at all!!

I was only thinking what a 'good' problem that was to have -- Bahamas or Jamaica! \/

Have a great trip!

Well I just got an e-mail back from Clive's Transportation Service for our reservations for Montego Bay airport(Sangster Int.)to Catcha Falling Star.
It's $36 RT PP and includes a complimentary drink.Should I take the Red Strip Beer or the Rum Punch??
