To Blank: Just where exactly do you expect the U.S. Navy to practice their maneuvers in order to help protect your sorry ass and preserve your freedom?

You are going to love Vieques! I stayed at the Inn on the Blue Horizon last February for 5 nights. It was absolutely beautiful. Maritsa is a doll and will help you w/ anything you need(she is at the front desk). And the owners are the most charming and generous people. The rooms are emaculate (hope you're staying in a cassita) and the view is breathtaking. It's private and run as a first class resort. They think of everything there. From the coolers and beach chairs in your room to take to the beach (go to Sun Bay) to the open air common area where you will find cushy sofas, magazines and a variety of books to read or take to the beach with you, if you forgot yours at home. The whole place is furnished with superb taste and the food is outstanding (good wine list too). The bar is run on an honor system after hours so you'll never be thirsty. It's everything you want it to be and more (if you want to just go away and RELAX). There's some nightlife if you want, but for the most part, people go there to get away from it all . Also for authentic puerto rican food, right outside of Sun Bay beach there are little stands on the side of the road. Very cheap, very good. There are also wild horses everywhere living in this natural, undisturbed sanctuary. You will need a jeep to get around. And go on the bio-luminescent bay tour at night (Maritsa will fill you in). It's truly something to see. ENJOY!!!

Hey Angie, I live in Vieques for 6 months every year. It is the most beautiful island you will ever see. The water is pristine and the beaches are almost empty. Makes one think it is a private island. The local people couldn't be nicer. As far as the Navy is concerned, most Americans and locals alike wish they would leave as soon as possible. Thankfully, they have not begun bombing this year, and even if they did, it will not effect you at Inn at the Blue Horizon, which is lovely.
As far as "Patriotic Pam's" message, maybe they should practice their outdated maneuvers in HER BACKYARD so they can really protect her SORRY ASS!

To Boopster:
Sorry, no one would choose for this to be done in their area but personally, they could practice their maneuvers in my FRONT YARD if it means protecting my freedom. Even after 9/11 some people just don't "get it" and choose to keep up the whining. It pains me!
