valuables on beach?

What do you do with obligatory valuables (car keys and a little money) while swimming? Any tips?
Thanks!

You can purchase small water proof pouches (with a string to keep around your neck) at your local dive shop or sports store that are perfect for just that sort of thing. Some are small enough to keep in the pocket of men's swim trunks. If you'd rather not spend the money a zip-lock sandwich bag works just as well.

You are wise not to leave your valuables unattended. Just because an island has palm trees and beautiful waters doesn't mean you should not use common sense.

You can buy one of those waterproof containers that you can hang from your neck and tuck into your swimsuit. Something like this:

One time my hubby buried the car keys and money under our beach towel, then almost forgot where he buried it! LOL.

snorkelcity.com sells a fanny pack with a waterproof inside. It looks like a ziplock bag inside. I used it in Hawaii and some things got damp. I don't think I sealed it very well. I didn't lose anything though.

I don't take these things to the beach which is within walking distance. Don't take $$$ either, jsut run a tab at the bar. If I do have anything valuable (once in a blue moon, I just leave it behind the bar for safekeeping.
