USAir
I have booked a direct flight from Phl to St.thomas, great price on USAir. Now someone at work mentions to me I would rather walk then trust USAir. Now I am paranoid. We have used USAir before with no problems. If it is just the fiasco at Christmas time with the lost luggage I dont see that happening again. We are leaving on Tues. morning and returning on a wed. Any recent thoughts from anyone who has used USAir recently.

You should be fine at least through early summer and most likely after that as well.
There were some major problems (financial) and the bankruptcy court released them from some multi-million dollar obligations. Analysts are forecasting a positive outlook for both the short-term and the foreseeable future.
Sounds to me like your co-worker is jealous and trying to rain on your parade - don't worry.

We went to St Thomas in November on US Air with no problems. As far as their problems with luggage, I would think that ALL major airlines have had problems. I almost always pack a change of clothes in my carry on along with a bathing suit etc just in case they loose my luggage for a few days.
Have fun in St Thomas

Yes, loan deadline is end of June - I wouldn't expect any problems until sometime after that. I think they have secured at least half of what they need to get past that deadline. I am hoping to see USAir have a sale to STT from BWI so I can book the end of June.
