Is it possible that the Turtle Inn could also be called Turtle Beach? My husband and I are going to be on Grand Cayman Island next Feb. and are looking for a reasonable place to stay for 4 nights. We are staying at Morritts Tortuga for 7 nights. We really do not want to spend $200 per night so would really appreciate any suggestions. Right now, I've narrowed our search down to Sunset House and Coconut Habour but both are going to run us close to $200 per night. Thanks for any suggestions.

There are several properties on GC called Turtle something or other but only one Turtle Nest Inn (centrally located in Boddentown). I am not familiar w/ the others, but the Inn is terrific & very reasonable.

Thanks very much - I did find the Turtle Nest Inn and contacted them. It turns out that the dates we need are not available but hopefully, we'll be able to go another time. I checked out their web site and it looks wonderful.

Sipry, If Turtle Nest Inn wasn't available my next choice would be the new Sunshine Suites (www.sunshinesuites.com) located on 7 mile beach..but NOT ocean front. It's across the street from the Westin (I think...somebody that knows please post.) and has a public beach access once you cross the street. Brand new, very nice--we went in and looked at several units. I thought it would be dark and dreary due to it's motel-like construction; it isn't. Light, bright, adequate space and you can get a kitchenette. It's definitely less than $200 nightly. Good luck!

I just found out that the Turtle Nest Inn is available for the dates we requested. However, the only apt. available is the beachfront studio. I would love to hear from anyone who has stayed at the Turtle Nest Inn, in the studio. I'm a little worried that it might not be all that comfortable since the only bed is a couch which opens into a double bed. Otherwise, it looks very nice.

We stayed at TNI last march, beachfront 2 br. Our two kids tooks turns sleeping on the couch and on the queen in the 2nd bedroom. Needless to say the bed was more popular than the couch. It's a sofabed and therefore not as comfortable as a bed. Having said that, I would choose TNI over Sunshine Suites. TNI is right on the water, it is small and private, with personal attention from the on-site owners when you need it. There is snorkel gear in the hall that you can borrow, and the snorkelling is great. They will provide a cooler and beach chairs for a day out. You can borrow movies from their video library. It's like staying at someone's house except your hosts stay very much in the background until you need them. It is a world apart from a large facility like Morrit's but if you do decide on TNI you can enjoy the benefits of both.

Just stayed at Sunshine Suites which is in fact behind the strip mall that is across the street from the Westin. The walk to Seven Mile Beach is maybe 250 yards. We paid $120 per night (not icluding tax and service charges) with getting two days free having paid for five. Of course that was off-season. We also have a free room upgrade card if you're interested. E-mail me with your address and I'll send you the coupon.

I'd go with Sunshine Suites - the beach across the road is prime. And I've never seen in crowded.
