Turks and Caicos advice

Looking at Grace Bay for first time- end of June.
Would like to be near Supermarket to purchase breakfast and lunch foods.
Eat dinner at restaurant -where we are staying or other.

Need to know if either one of these has daily maid service? ( no one wants to make
beds or clean bathrooms on vacation)

Do either of these places typically have any summer "specials" ?
Any airlines have summer "specials " to the Turks And Caicos?
Flying out of Philly, Atlantic City, or Newark NJ

How much would a car or Jeep rental typically run for one week?

Thank you seasoned travellers for your
Advice.

I meant to state ROYAL WEST INDIES and THE SANDS, when inquiring about Maid services.

Sorry.

There is a new (opened last year) IGA supermarket in Grace Bay, and both RWI and the Sands are probably less than a mile from it.

Both resorts often run specials, and summer specials are typical (usually one or two free nights with a given number of nights, or a percentage off). RWI ran a half-off special in the fall last year, but I don't think 50% off is as likely in early summer, because it is a more popular family vacation time.

Both places have daily maid service if you book through the resort. There are some units at RWI that owners rent privately, and these may not include daily maid service.

Check out Avis or Grace Bay Car Rentals for more details, but GBCR runs $40/day or $240/week for a car. Jeeps are more but I don't know how much.

since you'll have a car, you can really choose almost any resort on Grace Bay-most are condos. To cook breakfast and lunch in the units you need a full kitchen-which are in 1 bedrooms or higher. Studios have only kitchenettes-usually with dorm fridges and microwaves.

Most resorts will probably have specials, 3rd, 4th, 5th nights free, 25% off, etc. He's a secret: If you don't see specials on the websites of the resorts, call them directly and ask for a manager (not the toll free number!) see if they are willing to negociate. you have nothing to loose, except the phone call.

RWI and Sands are great mid-range properties to look at. You may want to consider a newer place too-such as Villa Del Mar. While not directly on the beach, the have pillowtop beds and limestone tiles, so it feels extra luxurious. It's only steps to the beach, so what you're saving by not being directly on the beach makes up for luxury.

most jeep rentals run between $59 - $69 plus taxes.

All the resorts have daily maid service, unless you rent directly from an owner, on a site such as vrbo.com. Even then, some have daily maid service, and yet you'd be saving money. RWI has some there, Sands does not.

Also check out Ocean Club West www.oceanclubresorts.com

Ocean Club is a little bit out of the way, but Ocean Club West is right in the middle of things. We can walk to many restaurants and (as mentioned above) it's close to a grocery store. You can have as much maid service as you would like. Also check out www.VRBO.com as mentioned above.

There is an on-site restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We are headed back for the third time in March.
