Trip Suggestions Needed

My 30th birthday is in February. My boyfriend and I would like to visit an island for about a week in March. We would like a location with beautiful, sandy beaches and some day activities and nightlife. Since we're traveling in March, we want to avoid the spring break crowd. Our ideal expense would be about $1000 per person. Our max is probably about $3000 pp. Ideas?

Hi Jaie, from what airport will you be flying? $1000/pp sounds a little tight with airfaire without knowing where you are.

Send a little more info.....

We're coming from Philly but could also fly from Baltimore, Newark, or New York.

Is that amount including or plus airfare ? If it is plus you might have some luck. If not it might get you something in Cancun or surrounding area. Visit cheapcaribbean.com orbitz expedia travelzoo and any of the other websites offering vacations. Airfare only to st lucia is costing me a little over $800 and this is before high season. I don't know what a large cruise line would cost but Windjammer was advertising discounted cruises for Nov. March is still high season in the Caribbean so options are going to be somewhat limited.
Good luck.

Just saw where someone else bought a good trip from American Airlines package deals. That may be a good place to try. We have Worry Free Vacations or Funjet for package deals. Not sure who services your area though.

Check package deals in Frommer's Budget Travel magazine. They have a 40 Best Bets feature each month with options similar to what you seek.
